Residents in Dorset will soon be able to explore their creative flair with a new centre opening its doors in Poundbury.
The Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts situated at Parkway Farm Business Park houses the highly successful Stonemasonry department of Weymouth College and will now be opening its doors to the public by offering a range of unique masterclasses.
The Centre will offer a quality experience for those interested in the creative arts. Taught by industry experts including artists and craft specialists, the centre will offer masterclasses and specialist qualifications with an opportunity to develop creative skills and knowledge in a relaxed environment.
Dorset residents are being encouraged to attend the Centre’s free launch event on Saturday 3rd October between 9.00am and 3.00pm. Visitors will be able to see the centre and its facilities, get involved in taster activities, see demonstrations and find out more about the new masterclasses on offer. It’s a real opportunity to talk to some of the artists and to see the wide variety of activity that’s available right on the doorstep.
Sarah Drew, Director of Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts said:
“We have a wealth of artists, and craft specialists in this county, and we are hoping that the centre will form a comfortable environment for artists to meet, exhibit work exchange ideas, and pass on skills through a range of high quality courses, guest lectures, and exhibitions.”
